Partner, Residential Sector Lead at Hawkins Brown Architects

Phil joined us in 2010 with experience in many sectors specifically including arts, education, residential, office and commercial, retail, and health and has a special interest in and experience of building within sensitive historic environments and working with listed buildings.

In addition he has a great depth of knowledge of housing masterplanning and regeneration and has a specialist knowledge of current thinking, emerging policy and funding mechanisms. He has written articles on the subject for architectural journals and has been invited to speak at housing design conferences across Europe.

Phil spent time working at CABE in the Public Buildings and Health team as an Enabling Advisor assisting client organisations and design teams. He also prepared case studies for various exemplar health projects giving him a rare perspective on the process of commissioning large public buildings successfully.

Since joining Phil has worked on residential and mixed use projects within the Woodberry Down Estate regeneration in Hackney, one of the largest regeneration sites in the country, and education projects including Christ the Saviour School in Ealing , and Napier & Oaklands Schools in the Medway towns in Kent.
