Rick Smith

Rick Smith is a Partner at Hawley Troxell Ennis & Hawley, serving since 1985 and currently chairing the Tax Group. A member of the firm's managing board since 2001, Rick Smith specializes in business, commercial, and tax litigation, representing corporate and utility clients in federal and state tax cases, as well as administrative agency matters primarily in the Western and some Midwestern states. Prior to this role, Rick Smith worked as an Associate at the same firm from 1979 to 1984 and as a staff accountant/auditor at Ernst & Ernst from 1976 to 1977. Rick Smith earned a J.D. (cum laude) from Georgetown University Law Center and holds a B.A. & B.S. (summa cum laude) in History and Accounting from the University of Idaho.
