Susan Schofer

Susan Schofer has over 15 years of experience in business development, product management, and technical product management. Susan began their career in 2005 as a Staff Scientist at Symyx Technologies. In 2004, they were a NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at Swedish Consortium for Artificial Photosynthesis. Susan was also a Postdoctoral Fellow at the American-Scandinavian Foundation in 2004. From 2010 to 2014, they worked at Amyris Inc. in various roles such as Associate Director of Technical Product Management, Senior Manager of Commercial Operations, Technical Product Lead, and Scientist II, III. In 2019, they became an Official Member of the Forbes Business Development Council. In 2021, they were an Invited Member of Chief and an Invited Member and Leadership Council of Activate. Finally, in 2022, they became a Partner at SOSV and a Partner and Chief Science Officer at HAX.

Susan Schofer began their educational journey at New Trier Township High School Winnetka, where they graduated in 1993. Susan then attended Brown University, where they earned their Sc.B. in Chemistry in 1997. In 1998, they began their Ph.D. in Chemistry at Caltech, which they completed in 2004. Afterward, they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Chemistry at both Stockholm University and Uppsala University from 2004 to 2005.
