Syed Shakeel Ahmed

Syed Shakeel Ahmed has a wealth of work experience. In 2019, they were the Executive Director and Cofounder and Chief Technology Officer of Spidfier - Nanopath Technologies, Founder in Residence at HAX, and Cofounder and CTO of Nanopath Technologies Limited. In 2018, they were the Director and Cofounder of 28CAT Limited and a Cohort Member at Entrepreneur First. In 2017, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Hong Kong, where they conducted experimental work with nucleic acids, cell cultures and humanized transgenic mice animal models to study virus-host interactions of coronaviruses, and mentored two Master's students for their year-long hands-on projects. In 2010, they were a Research Assistant at the Department of Microbiology at the University of Hong Kong, where they tested animal samples for presence of infectious viruses as part of long-term government surveillance program, and learnt various microbiological techniques.

Syed Shakeel Ahmed attended The University of Hong Kong from 2007 to 2010, where they earned their Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, General. Syed Shakeel then returned to The University of Hong Kong from 2012 to 2017, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Microbiology and Virology.
