Ansgar Koene

Ansgar Koene is a prominent leader in AI ethics and regulation, currently serving as the Global AI Ethics and Regulatory Leader at EY since June 2019. Koene holds multiple key positions, including Trustee at 5Rights, Commissioner at the Digital Futures Commission, and Expert advising the UN Secretary-General's High-Level Advisory Body on AI. Additional roles include Steering Committee Member at the International Observatory on Information Democracy, AI Ethics Board Member at Hayden AI, Board Member at AfroLeadership, and Director of AI at Holo Art. Koene is also involved with the American Council for Technology - Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) and contributes to the CEN-CENELEC Focus Group on AI and the OECD Network of Experts on AI. Koene earned a PhD in Physics/Computational-Behavioural Neuroscience from Utrecht University and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
