Asela Hewapathirana

Asela Hewapathirana has a diverse work experience in the field of Human Resources. The most recent position held by Asela is as the Head of Employee Relations & Human Resource Operations at Hayleys Advantis Limited, starting in November 2022. Prior to this, Asela worked as a Senior Human Resources Manager at Softlogic Life from July 2017 to October 2022. In this role, Asela oversaw operational HR functions, industrial relations of employees and insurance advisors, learning and development programs, recruitment functions, cadre planning, sourcing, and onboarding.

Before joining Softlogic Life, Asela served as an Assistant Manager of Human Resources & Administration at VARUN BEVERAGES LIMITED from January 2016 to June 2017. Asela obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from Cardiff Metropolitan University, where they studied from 2013 to 2015. Previously, they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Management with a specialization in Human Resources from University College Dublin, studying there from 2010 to 2012. Asela also earned a Higher Diploma in Business Management from the National Institute of Business Management during the period of 2008 to 2010. Asela acquired an Advanced Level diploma in Business/Commerce from Ananda College in Colombo 10, where they studied from 1995 to 2008. Additionally, Asela completed Stage 1 of the Association of Accounting Technicians program offered in Sri Lanka in 2006 and 2007. Asela is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration at the Open University of Sri Lanka. The exact dates of their enrollment are not specified. Furthermore, Asela has engaged in English language and literature studies at the British Council in Colombo, with the dates spanning from 2005 to 2014.
