Recipient of the Best Shipping Personality Award by the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers; Leadership Excellence Recognition – Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka; honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at the Seatrade – Sri Lanka Ports, Trade and Logistics; Lifetime Award for the Most Outstanding Logistics and Transport Personality of the Year – Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport. He is the Chairman of Unisyst Engineering PLC, Alumex PLC, Amaya Leisure PLC, Dipped Products PLC, Haycarb PLC, Hayleys Fabric PLC, Hayleys Fibre PLC, Kelani Valley Plantations PLC, Regnis (Lanka) PLC, Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC, Singer Industries (Ceylon) PLC, Talawakelle Tea Estates PLC, The Kingsbury PLC, Horana Plantations PLC, and serves on the Board of Diesel & Motor Engineering Co PLC.
