J.J. Colao has a diverse work experience starting with their role as the Founder of Haymaker Group since May 2014. J.J. then became a Mentor at Almaworks in September 2015. Prior to that, they were a Reporter at Forbes Magazine where they covered entrepreneurship, technology, venture capital, and startups. During their time at Forbes, they wrote numerous magazine stories, web articles, features, and conducted video interviews with notable figures. Before joining Forbes, they were the Co-founder and Head of Product at a local services marketplace startup, where they gained valuable experience in building an online marketplace.

J.J. Colao has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and English from Wake Forest University. Additionally, they have studied European Politics and Italian History at New York University.
