Christina Courson

Christina Courson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Christina currently holds the position of Chief Human Resources Officer at Hays Consolidated Independent School District since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Lockhart ISD as the Chief of Staff from 2022 to 2023. Christina also served as the Executive Director of Communications and Community Services at Lockhart ISD between 2018 and 2022, and as the Public Information Officer from 2016 to 2018. Before joining Lockhart ISD, they worked at Hays CISD as a Communication Specialist from 2012 to 2016. Earlier in their career, they worked at the Texas Juvenile Justice Department as a Performance Accountability Specialist from 2007 to 2012. Christina also had roles at the Texas Youth Commission, including as a Communication Specialist and Interim Legislative Liaison from 2003 to 2007, and as a Research Specialist in the Office of Delinquency Prevention from 2001 to 2003.

Christina Courson completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Studies at American University from 1992 to 1996. Christina then pursued a Certificate in the Public Communications Strategies Program at The University of Texas at Austin in 2004. In 1994, Christina participated in a Summer Abroad program in Korean International Relations at Yonsei University. Christina later pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Leadership and Change at St. Edward's University from 2016 to 2018.
