Kimberly Schmitt

Kimberly Schmitt has a diverse work experience in the field of laboratory operations and scientific research. Kimberly is currently working at Haystack Oncology as the Senior Manager of Laboratory Operations since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Sysmex Inostics where they held multiple roles. Kimberly started as a Clinical Lab Technician II in May 2014 and progressed to become the Lead Clinical Laboratory Technologist in October 2015. As the Lead Technologist, they managed the workflow of samples, provided technical support to the team, and oversaw daily activities in the lab. Kimberly later transitioned into the role of Scientist and then Supervisor of Laboratory Operations from May 2017 to July 2021. Kimberly also worked as the Manager of Laboratory Operations for a brief period from July 2021 to September 2021.

Before joining Sysmex Inostics, Kimberly worked at Paragon Bioservices, Inc. as an Associate Scientist II from May 2013 to May 2014. Kimberly'sresponsibilities included running routine testing, providing QC testing for in-house materials and drug products, and writing SOPs and material specifications. Prior to that, they worked at ABL Inc. as a Scientist from May 2012 to May 2013. In this role, they ran the NASBA assay for obtaining SIV viral load in non-human primates, managed consumables and reagent supply, and ensured the production and quality control of NASBA reagents.

Kimberly Schmitt completed their education at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. From 2007 to 2010, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, with a focus on General Biology. Kimberly further pursued their studies at the same university from 2011 to 2012, where they earned a Master's Degree in Molecular Biology, with a specialization in Applied Molecular Biology.
