Alvin Sim

Alvin serves as General Manager for Hayward Tyler’s China Operations. A veteran of the pump industry, he started his career with Ingersoll-Rand in 1989 and has held progressively expanded roles throughout his career, including sales, sales management, marketing, distributions management, and senior management roles for major operations.

Prior to joining Hayward Tyler, Alvin was the CEO of CMR Singapore, a French-owned electrical system and automation company. He was previously associated with Flowserve, where he was responsible for all activities in China and Japan, and served as Sales Vice President for Asia Pacific Region. He was also with SPX as Vice President of Sales & Operations, Asia Pacific.

At Hayward Tyler, Alvin applies his vast experience and wide skill set to provide leadership and vision for the operations in Kunshan, China. Enhancing operational excellence in Kunshan is a primary focus for Alvin, as the facility has evolved in its ability to provide world-class quality products and services to the customers and support other Hayward Tyler facilities. Equally important is his concentration on expanding and ensuring a continuous aftermarket business stream for the entire company.

Alvin resides in Singapore but spends the majority of his time in Kunshan, China. He holds an engineering degree from Loughborough University, UK, and is a certified Blackbelt in Lean and Six Sigma.
