William Covin

Social Studies Teacher at HAYWOOD COUNTY SCHOOLS

William Covin is an experienced educator with a strong background in social studies, having served as a Social Studies Teacher at Haywood County Schools since October 2014, where lessons are designed and implemented for approximately 75 high school students. Covin has also held the role of Lead Instructor and was recognized as Teacher of the Year for the 2020-21 school year. Prior experience includes a position as a Political-Economic Assistant at the American Embassy in Abidjan, involvement with the North Carolina Democratic Party as a State Executive Committee Member, and various roles emphasizing education and environmental policy. Covin holds a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University, along with degrees in Social Science Education and History from The University of Georgia.
