Ginny Katz, MPH

Ginny Katz, MPH has a diverse work experience spanning several fields. Ginny is currently the Founder & CEO of HazAdapt, INC. since July 2019. Ginny also works as a Community Resilience Correspondent & Radio Personality at KORC 2015.9 FM, reporting on topics related to public safety, disasters, resilience, and community since June 2022.

Ginny has previous experience as a Data Illustrating Virtual Artist, where they were self-employed from January 2018. Ginny was also involved with Oregon State University, working as a CEOAS GeoViz Lab Graduate Lead, providing data visualization support, and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for various courses related to sustainability and resilient communities, starting from September 2019.

In addition, Ginny served as the Chief of Operations for the COVID Response Collective, a community movement during the COVID-19 pandemic, from March 2020 to June 2020. Ginny has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and Videographer at Oregon State University, focusing on Humanist Geography and Geovisualization from August 2018 to May 2019. Ginny was also a Graduate Research Assistant and Field Producer from October 2016 to November 2017.

Ginny'searlier experiences include an internship at the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, where they worked on emergency preparedness plans using GIS technology and participated in community outreach strategies from April 2017 to August 2017. Ginny has also contributed as a Multimedia Contributor at Orange Media Network, been an Assistant Office Manager at Pearl District Dental, and worked as a Relations Director and Surgical Counselor and Patient Coordinator at San Antonio Eye Specialists.

Ginny Katz, MPH, has a diverse education history that spans several institutions and fields of study. Ginny began their educational journey at the University of the Nations in 2009, where they obtained a certificate in Introduction to Primary Health Care-Primary Health Care Worker. This certificate focused on primary health care, HIV and STI prevention, and patient education and counseling for underserved areas.

In 2009, Ginny attended San Antonio College, pursuing a Pre-Medical degree with a focus on healthcare and medicine. Ginny completed their studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio from 2011 to 2013, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health.

Seeking further specialization, Ginny pursued a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Global Health at Oregon State University from 2016 to 2018. This degree focused on international health and expanded their understanding of public health on a global scale.

Ginny continued their education at Oregon State University, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Geography from 2018 to 2022. This PhD program allowed their to delve deeper into the intersection of human geography and public health, emphasizing spatial analysis and understanding the social and physical factors that contribute to health disparities.

In addition to their academic degrees, Ginny has obtained various certifications to enhance their professional skills. Notably, they obtained certifications in emergency management from the Emergency Management Institute | Federal Emergency Management Agency, including the National Response Framework, An Introduction, ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incident, Introduction to Incident Command, and National Incident Management Systems.

Ginny also acquired the Oregon State University Conflict of Interest Course certification from the CITI Program, FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration, Healthcare Provider CPR and AED certification from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association, and Wilderness First Aid Certification from SOLO Wilderness Medical School.
