Javad Roostaei

Javad Roostaei, PhD, PE, MCompSc, currently serves as the Director of Data Science at Hazen and Sawyer, where responsibilities include leading a data science team and developing advanced predictive machine learning models for the water and wastewater sector. Javad is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on data-driven modeling in public health and environmental sciences. Experience as a Machine Learning Postdoctoral Researcher at Indiana University Bloomington and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill contributed to significant advancements in predictive analytics and geospatial data analysis. Prior roles include Project Manager at Quantifly, where Javad spearheaded funding efforts and innovative projects in computer vision and spatial data analytics, and extensive engineering roles in water resource management across various consulting firms. Educational credentials include a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering and an MSc in Computer Science from Wayne State University. Javad is recognized for contributions to over ten published articles and holds two registered patents.
