Chelsea Locklear has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Chelsea began their career as a W.I.N.S Research Intern at the United States Department of Agriculture in 2010. In 2011, they worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant at the North Carolina Commission of Indian Affairs. Later that year, they joined City Year as a Corps Member, where they served as a tutor and mentor to elementary school students and held leadership roles such as Project Leader and Corps Fundraiser Director. In 2013, they worked as a Development Coordinator at Echoing Green. In 2015, they pursued their passion for technology and completed a 12-week Web Development Immersive program at General Assembly, learning various programming languages and technologies. Chelsea then worked as an E-Commerce Specialist at Harley-Davidson of New York City before becoming a Project Manager at Girls Who Code. Currently, they are the Head of Firm and Client Operations at HCG Funds, a position they have held since 2017.
Chelsea Locklear earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International/Global Studies from North Carolina State University from 2007 to 2011. Chelsea then pursued their Master's in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completing the program from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, in 2015, Chelsea attended General Assembly for a Web Development Immersive program, although the field of study is not specified.
