Jilan Xing has worked in the biotechnology industry since 2000. From 2000 to 2004, Xing worked as a Research Associate at Heilongjiang jiangshi Pharmaceutical CO., LTD. From 2004 to 2014, Xing worked as a Research Associate at Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences. From 2014 to 2016, Xing worked as a Lab Assistant at Florida Atlantic University, where they performed media preparation, solution and gel preparation, DNA/RNA purification, RT-PCR, long-range PCR, gel electrophoresis, gene cloning (up to 6kb), maintenance of C. elegans strains, genotyping and molecular screening the mutant C. elegans strain, worms lifespan and SDS resistance. From 2016 to 2017, Xing worked as a Laboratory Technician at SourceMolecular Corporation. From 2017 to 2019, Xing worked as a Research Assistant at Altor Bioscience Corporation, where they conducted cell culture and ELISA assay, and characterized cytokines using flow cytometry. From 2019 to 2020, Xing worked as a Research Associate at HCW Biologics Inc. In their current role, Xing purifies recombinant protein and monoclonal antibodies using the AKTA system, and contributes to affinity purification, depth filter, anion exchange, and TFF.

Jilan Xing obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology from Northeast Agricultural University between 1996 and 2000. Afterwards, they obtained a Master's Degree in Veterinary Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology, and Public Health from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences between 2001 and 2004. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Molecular Diagnostics Technologist from the America Assosication of Bioanalysts.
