Mr. Prasun Singh is Group Head – Ethics Function at HDFC Bank. He was appointed as the Bank’s Chief Ethics Officer in April 2023.
In his current leadership role, Mr. Singh is responsible for developing and driving ethics-related policies and programmes that strengthen the Bank’s ethical culture and reinforce its standing as a trusted institution. He works closely with the Managing Director & CEO, Board of Directors, and Board Committees to ensure the highest standards of conduct across all levels of the organisation, in line with the Bank’s Code of Conduct.
Earlier, Mr. Singh was the Bank’s Chief of Internal Vigilance / Chief Vigilance Officer (CIV/CVO). In this role, he led enterprise-wide efforts in vigilance and fraud risk management—including the oversight of critical investigations involving fraud, regulatory compliance, whistleblower cases and internal misconduct—while reporting to the Audit Committee of the Board.
A seasoned enforcement professional, Mr. Prasun brings over 18 years of investigative experience spanning India’s foremost agencies, including the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), and the Customs & Central Excise Department, Ministry of Finance. His expertise spans financial crimes, anti-bribery, foreign exchange violations, money laundering (FEMA & PMLA), narcotics, tax evasion and complex banking-related investigations.
Mr. Singh holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in French from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, an Executive Postgraduate Programme in General Management (EPGM) from MIT Sloan School of Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
