Ian Cain

Ian Cain is a Senior Botanist at HDR, specializing in the Northern California region and the greater Arid West since November 2017. In this role, Ian leads FERC licensing studies, botanical monitoring, vegetation mapping, and restoration projects, while also supporting aquatic resources delineations and Envision Certification initiatives. Prior to HDR, Ian worked as a Botanist and Wetland/Restoration Ecologist at Psomas from October 2014 to November 2017, where numerous botanical surveys were conducted for various projects in Southern California. Previous experience as a Biologist at ICF International from April 2010 to October 2014 included botanical surveys for major projects and assistance with wildlife clearance sweeps. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Environmental Science from San Diego State University, completed in 2009.
