Michael Tan is a seasoned architect with extensive experience in health and project design. Currently serving as Health Principal at HDR since July 2022, Michael previously held the role of Project Architect/Project Designer at FCArchitects from 2010 to July 2022, contributing to significant projects for RWJBarnabas Health, Atlantic Health, and Virtua Health. Earlier in the career at Ballinger (2003-2009), Michael worked on notable medical center projects including the University of Rochester Medical Center and Johns Hopkins University. Previous positions include roles at Platt Byard Dovell White (2001-2003) and Pierce Allen (1999-2001), with a variety of architectural projects in both health care and residential sectors. Michael holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University, along with degrees in Printmaking, Photography, and English Literature from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University. Awards received include a Special Recognition Award from AIA and a LEED Silver Rating.
