Ted Smithwick, PE is an accomplished civil engineer with extensive experience in roadway design and project management. Currently serving as the Area Roadway Business Leader at HDR since April 2023, Ted previously held the position of Project Manager and Department Manager at Stanley Consultants, overseeing the roadway design group for the Stanley Phoenix office from November 2014 to March 2023. Notable project experience includes major roadway improvements for the Town of Queen Creek and the City of Goodyear, as well as significant work with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Earlier roles include serving as a Senior Transportation Engineer and Engineer at Kittelson & Associates, Inc. and Ayres Associates, respectively. Ted holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona and an MBA in Leadership from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
