Principal Investigator, Medical Director at Headlands Research

David Strong, MD/PhD has a diverse work experience in the medical field. David has served as a Principal Investigator and Medical Director at Headlands Research since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Deputy Medical Director at the Michigan Region 2 South Healthcare Coalition starting in 2021. From 2017, they served as a Senior Staff Physician at Henry Ford Medical Group. In 2020, they had two roles; one as a White House Fellow at the Executive Office of the President from September 2020 to August 2021, and another as a Physician at MPHI, where they provided medical and public health consultation and support in response to COVID-19. In the same year, they also acted as the Medical Director at the TCF Regional Care Center, overseeing the start-up and management of a medical facility for COVID-19 patients. In their early years, they worked as a Flight Physician at UC Health Air Care & Mobile Care from 2013 to 2016.

David Strong, MD/PhD obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University in 1999. David then pursued a Master of Science degree in Neuroscience from the same university, graduating in 2003. During this time, they also attended Washington University in St. Louis, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Immunology in 2012. Additionally, they obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2012 as well. In terms of certifications, they received an Emergency Medicine Certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in June 2017, and an Emergency Medical Services Subspecialty Certification from the same institution in November 2017.
