Stacey Mainiero

Stacey Mainiero is the CEO at H.I. Executive Consulting. Stacey has over 15 years of experience in finance and accounting.

Mainiero began their career as an assistant controller at United Retail Group in January 2004. In this role, they led the close, reporting, analyses, audit, and SOX compliance through a staff of over 20 for 550 physical and online stores. Stacey ensured finance data integrity across five systems—Point of Sale, Cash Management, Sales Audit, Corporate Stock Ledger Inventory and General Ledger Systems. Mainiero also served as a key liaison with IT for financial systems.

During their time at United Retail Group, Mainiero was able to streamline cash management; reducing national bank accounts from 300 to 25 and converting expense and payroll reconciliations from manual to automated processes. This improved data accuracy and reduced reconciliation from weeks to less than one day. Additionally, they reallocated 2 staff members.

In 2006, Mainiero developed and tested Sarbanes Oxley Compliance flow charts, policies, procedures and activities for finance operations; securing Board of Director’s approval. The project culminated in favorable internal and external audits.

Additionally, Mainiero heightened fraud and theft awareness through the creation of weekly comprehensive result and exception reporting packages that identified potential mismanagement, shrink and other business opportunities.
