Charles Bloom, DO, FACOEP has extensive work experience in the medical field. Charles has held various leadership roles throughout their career. From 2007 to 2012, they worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Emergency Medicine Physicians, serving as the ED Trauma Director and later as the Critical Care Transport Director. During this time, they collaborated with hospital and departmental leadership to improve policies and enhance care for trauma patients. From 2012 to 2013, they served as the Chairman and Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Emergency Medicine Physicians, where they implemented a physician triage program and improved efficiency and patient satisfaction. Starting in 2012, they also worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician at US Acute Care Solutions, where they managed the collaboration between the quality improvement and risk management departments and administered group education for medical providers. From 2015 to 2017, they served as the Plan Medical Director at Health Alliance Plan formerly HealthPlus of Michigan, overseeing quality improvement, utilization management, and case management. From 2017 to 2020, they held the role of Vice President of Utilization Management and Provider Relations at Health Alliance Plan, where they provided direction and planning for various departments and developed processes to improve authorization procedures and member grievances. Most recently, starting in 2020, they served as the Chief Medical Officer at Health Alliance Plan, overseeing medical expense performance, care management strategies, and provider relationships at individual and organizational levels.

Charles Bloom, DO, FACOEP completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences/Chemistry at Michigan State University from 1990 to 1994. Subsequently, from 1995 to 1999, they attended the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where they obtained their Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. Later, in 2005, they became Board Certified in Emergency Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Physicians, AOA. Additionally, Charles Bloom, DO, FACOEP is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians.
