Capt. Panos Stavrakakis

Capt. Panos Stavrakakis, PhD, currently serves as Sector Manager for the Construction Industry and Built Environment at the Health and Safety Executive, where responsibilities include leading innovation and research strategy development and fostering academic and industry collaborations. Previous roles include Head of the Occupational Health & Human Factors Centre, Managing Director at KPAD LTD, and Business Developer & Innovation Manager at the Technical University of Crete. Capt. Stavrakakis has a diverse background in research, project management, and business development, with extensive experience in coordinating EU-funded research projects and securing grants. Educationally, Capt. Stavrakakis holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, an MSc in Disaster Medicine & Crisis Management, an MBA in Shipping, and a diploma in Naval & Marine Engineering from the Hellenic Naval Academy.
