Karen Roach is an experienced professional with a robust background in Indigenous services and health policy. Currently serving as Chair of the Indigenous Employee Network at Health Canada since July 2022, Karen previously held various significant positions, including Acting Manager of the Aboriginal Peoples Employment Program and Indigenous Navigator at Indigenous Services Canada. Karen's experience also encompasses roles as Senior Research Advisor at Employment and Social Development Canada, and Senior Policy Analyst at Health Canada, where responsibilities included providing strategic advice, supporting Indigenous employment initiatives, and managing health service transfers to First Nations. Karen's academic credentials include a Master's degree in Native Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a focus on Community Psychology from Carleton University, as well as a diploma in Theatre from Algonquin College.
