Mélanie Whiteside has a diverse work experience in the government sector. Mélanie began their career in 1999 at Environment and Climate Change Canada, where they worked in wildlife toxicology research until 2006. Mélanie then joined Health Canada | Santé Canada, where they held various positions, including Evaluation Officer from 2006 to 2009, Senior Evaluation Officer from 2009 to 2016, Senior Re-evaluation Coordinator from 2016 to 2017, Section Head of Environmental Exposure Modelling from 2017 to 2021, and Senior Advisor for Antimicrobial Resistance from 2021 to 2022. Currently, they serve as the Chief of the Nutrition Pre-Market Assessment Division at Health Canada | Santé Canada.
Mélanie Whiteside obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Université Laval between 1994 and 1997. Mélanie also completed the Ivey Leadership Program at The Ivey Academy, Ivey Business School in 2023.
