Karen Harris

Karen Harris is an officer with the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, a safety net health care system that ensures residents of Palm Beach County have access to quality health care. Her responsibilities include oversight of the Health Care District’s 120-bed skilled nursing facility and its rural, acute-care teaching hospital, Lakeside Medical Center.

Ms. Harris joined the Health Care District in June of 2015 as Administrator of the Edward J. Healey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility in Riviera Beach that provides top-quality short-term and long-term rehabilitation and 24/7 skilled nursing care for eligible adult Palm Beach County residents. Under her leadership, Ms. Harris guided the Healey Center to achieve a deficiency-free survey from the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). During her tenure, the Healey Center was named on U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best Nursing Homes 2016-17 for earning an overall Five-Star Rating, the highest rating it awards to nursing homes.

Ms. Harris has more than 15 years of healthcare experience. Prior to joining the Health Care District, she served as Regional Director of Operations for HCR ManorCare, where she directed and monitored operations for seven skilled nursing facilities.

Ms. Harris received a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from Lynn University.
