Danica Gomes is an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician currently serving at the St. Boniface Haiti Foundation since September 2016. In addition to this role, Danica has worked as a Research Coordinator and Associate Investigator at EMEDEX International, focusing on point-of-care ultrasound training in Haiti, and has been a Resident Physician at both SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Kings County Hospital Center since July 2011. Previous experience includes serving as Principal Investigator for a study assessing a Home-Based Care program for HIV patients with Christian Aid, and working as an HIV Counselor with the Student Health Action Coalition. Danica's academic credentials include a Doctor of Medicine from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master’s degree in Control of Infectious Disease from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
