Kate McIntosh MD, MBA, FAAP has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Kate currently holds the position of Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Health New England since October 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Medical Director and Director of Quality and Utilization Management at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont from October 2020 to October 2021.

Before joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, Dr. McIntosh worked as an Independent Business Owner at McIntosh Medical Consulting from May 2013 to September 2021. Kate also served as the Assistant Clinical Professor Medicine at The University of Vermont Medical Center from July 2006 to September 2021.

Dr. McIntosh has extensive experience in pediatric healthcare as well. Kate was the Managing Partner and President of Rainbow Pediatrics from November 2004 to June 2019. Moreover, they held the position of Chief of Pediatrics at The University of Vermont Health Network- Porter Medical Center from November 2011 to February 2019, and was a member of the Board of Directors from October 2012 to August 2018.

Additionally, Dr. McIntosh served as the Medical Director at VITL - Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Inc. from May 2013 to June 2018. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated strong leadership and expertise in quality management, utilization management, and information technology integration in healthcare.

Kate McIntosh MD, MBA, FAAP completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Kate also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. Following their medical degree, they pursued a Pediatrics Residency Program at the University of Michigan. Kate McIntosh is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and is Board Certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).
