Matthew Reid

Matthew Reid is a public health medicine specialist currently serving in the Protection Clinical Team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora. With extensive experience in public health, Matthew has held significant roles such as Medical Officer of Health at Te Mana Ora Community and Public Health and Chief Clinical Advisor at the Ministry of Health during the national Covid-19 response. Additionally, Matthew has contributed to the academic field as a lecturer in Global Health at the University of Canterbury and Population Health at the University of Otago. As a Chairperson of Médecins Sans Frontières New Zealand, Matthew has demonstrated leadership in humanitarian efforts and international health governance, including representation at the International General Assembly of MSF. Matthew holds a Master's degree in Public Health and a medical degree from the University of Otago.
