Chris McTiernan

Chris McTiernan is the Senior Vice President of Clinical and Provider Management at Health Partners Plans. Prior to joining Health Partners Plans, Chris served as the Executive Director of Einstein Care Partners, LLC, an accountable care organization, from January 2017 to July 2020. From July 2014 to July 2020, Chris also served as the Chief Payer Relations Officer at Einstein Healthcare Network.

From August 2006 to July 2014, Chris was the Vice President of Provider Contracting and Reimbursement/Senior Director of Provider Reimbursement at Independence Blue Cross, where they were responsible for managing Pennsylvania and Delaware provider networks, including 20k+ professionals, 85+ hospitals and $8B+ in annual spend. Chris's responsibilities included provider contracting, network management, reimbursement, medical cost optimization, network financial analysis and value based payment models development and management (i.e. ACO payment models, primary care and specialty incentive plans).

Prior to Independence Blue Cross, Chris was the Manager of Provider Financial Planning at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care from February 2003 to July 2006 and a Senior Consultant at Public Consulting Group from January 2001 to December 2003.

Chris McTiernan has a Bachelor of Science in Health Management and Policy from the University of New Hampshire and a Masters in Health Administration from the same school.
