Erik Nystrom

Director, Strategy & Development at Health & Rehab Solutions

Growing up outside of Seattle, Erik is at home in the mountains. He studied industrial engineering and aeronautics at Central Washington University, becoming a flight instructor along the way. Erik discovered a love for teaching others through his ability to break down complex ideas into understandable parts. His knack for engineering and big picture thinking served him well during his early career in the military.

As an army officer, Erik served multiple combat deployments across Iraq and Afghanistan. He conceptualized operations to bring tactical success and significantly enhance the survivability of the units he supported. As a civilian, Erik found himself down in Houston, Texas, in the oil and gas industry. There he wrote strategies to help his company weather the ups and downs inherent to the industry. A desire to make a more direct impact in business owner’s lives (and return to the mountains) connected Erik to Blaine. It was clear Erik’s background and strengths could further help HRS partners become more successful in business while providing the level of care they are known for.

When he isn’t strategizing, you can find Erik partaking in one of his numerous hobbies such as playing guitar, woodworking, or teaching people to fly airplanes. He also is taking full advantage of his return to the mountains, exploring them with his wife, Autumn, and their two children, Barrett and Annora.
