Bioinformatics Platform Coordinator at Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela

Jorge Amigo Lechuga is an experienced professional in the field of bioinformatics, currently serving as the Head of the Bioinformatics Unit at the Fundación Pública Galega de Medicina Xenómica since August 2015, alongside a role as Bioinformatics Platform Coordinator at the Fundación Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Santiago de Compostela since January 2019. Previous positions include Bioinformatician at Fundación Ramón Domínguez and Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, with substantial expertise in designing and maintaining bioinformatics solutions for clinical and academic genomics. Jorge holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, an MSc in Biosystems and Informatics from the University of Liverpool, and a BSc in Physics from Universidad de Santiago de Compostela.

The Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela (IDIS) is a translational research, innovation and knowledge transfer centre which leverages and boosts synergies between the University and the Health Care Areas of Santiago de Compostela and Barbanza, and of Lugo, A Mariña and Monforte de Lemos. IDIS was officially certified as a research centre of the Spanish Health System by the Institute of Health Carlos III in March 2010.
