Noa Carrera Cachaza is a Clinical Laboratory Geneticist and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela since July 2017, focusing on nephrology research. Prior experience includes serving as a Research Associate at Cardiff University, contributing to neuropsychiatric genetics and genomics with a focus on schizophrenia from April 2013 to April 2017. Additionally, Noa worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Fundación Pública Galega de Medicina Xenómica, conducting genetic research on schizophrenia, autism, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, and previously held a Predoctoral Researcher position at the same institution, investigating non-synonymous SNPs in schizophrenia. Training in psychiatric disease research began as a Trainee Researcher at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, where studies were conducted on the genetic implications of schizophrenia.
