Sabela Da Silva Álvarez is an accomplished researcher with a strong background in molecular medicine and cellular senescence. The Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela (IDIS) is a translational research, innovation and knowledge transfer centre which leverages and boosts synergies between the University and the Health Care Areas of Santiago de Compostela and Barbanza, and of Lugo, A Mariña and Monforte de Lemos. IDIS was officially certified as a research centre of the Spanish Health System by the Institute of Health Carlos III in March 2010.
