Elizabeth Showalter

Elizabeth Showalter has a diverse work experience across various organizations and roles. Elizabeth'smost recent position was as a Research Associate at Health Resources in Action, where they started in January 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Assistant at the same company from August 2016 to December 2017.

Before joining Health Resources in Action, Elizabeth worked as a Research Assistant at Boston Children's Hospital from January 2016 to May 2016. In this role, they performed secondary analysis on a research study focused on reducing substance use in youth. Elizabeth presented the results at a poster session and had an abstract of the findings published at an academic conference.

Elizabeth also gained research experience at Boston University School of Public Health. From May 2015 to April 2016, they worked as a Research Assistant on a project documenting a hospital network's protocol for identifying human trafficking victims. Elizabeth conducted interviews and completed an IRB exemption application. Elizabeth also worked as a Core Course Tutor, providing individualized explanations for challenging public health concepts to struggling students in biostatistics and epidemiology courses.

Elizabeth's earlier work experience includes working as an English Instructor at Estrella de Belen Elementary School from October 2013 to February 2014, and as an Intern in the Anti-Human Trafficking Program at Salvation Army from June 2013 to August 2013.

Prior to their academic and research roles, Elizabeth served as a Stand Manager at Giuseppe's Italian Ice from July 2007 to August 2012.

Elizabeth Showalter earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International/Global Studies from the University of Michigan, completing their studies from 2010 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Public Health at Boston University, where they studied from 2014 to 2016.
