Don Herington

Don Herington is the Information Services Database Administrator at Health Share of Oregon. Prior to this, they were the IT Operations Supervisor at NuVision Federal Credit Union from January 2014 to January 2014. In this role, they managed a team of 7 responsible for internal software development, programming, system administration, reporting, and user support for all credit union applications. Don also collaborated with internal customers to understand business purpose and convert user requests into technical specifications for reporting, software enhancements and process improvements that improve functionality and add value. Additionally, they served as liaison between internal customers, vendor, and 3rd party technicians and resolved performance degradation and downtime issues through troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Evaluating new core systems using site visits, efficiency studies, vendor scorecards, and integrations analysis, Don led a large conversion for a newly-acquired credit union requiring assessment, data modeling, and migration of customer demographics, account activity and financial data fields from legacy applications. Don also directed the internal build of a data warehouse for enterprise-wide reporting and analysis from disparate databases. Furthermore, they headed the development of a new software used to track sales against productivity goals for executive reporting including managing ongoing enhancements, user support, training, and report generation. Lastly, they led the conversion of accounts from social security numbers to system-generated numbers for consumer protection and designed an application to automate processes for customers opting to use the Skip-A-Pay promotion.

Don Herington has a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from California State University, Fullerton, and is certified by the Project Management Institute as a Certified Associate in Project Management.

They are on a team with Rick Dentler - Information Services Security Program Manager, Ryan Brown - Information Services Systems Engineer, and Shon Jacobs - Information Services Desktop Specialist. Their manager is Chris Diaz, Director of Information Services.
