John Kershaw, MCIS

John Kershaw, MCIS has a diverse work experience in the field of data architecture, business intelligence, and healthcare informatics. John started their career as an Operations Supervisor at the United States Air Force from 2000 to 2008. John then served as a Manager in Policy Analysis and Unit Training at the United States Air Force from 2010 to 2013.

In 2013, John joined Cheyenne Regional Medical Center as an IT Manager in Business Intelligence, where they provided leadership and support in report development and statistical modeling. John also acted as a Business Intelligence Analyst during this time.

From 2014 to 2015, John worked as a Business Intelligence Consultant at Duke University Health System, specializing in Epic Clarity financial reporting and streamlining. John primarily used Crystal and SQL reporting for their projects.

Starting in 2015, John worked as a Senior Healthcare Technical Consultant at Health Systems Informatics (HSi). John then moved on to become a Business Intelligence Consultant at Partners HealthCare, where they focused on ADT, Prelude, and financial reporting using Crystal Reports and SQL.

John extensively worked with SQL and the Azure Databricks platform to provide data solutions. John Kershaw, MCIS, has a solid education history in the field of computer and information sciences. John completed their Doctor of Science degree in Data Modeling/Warehousing and Database Administration from Grand Canyon University from 2023 to 2026. Previously, they obtained their Masters in Computer Information Systems (MCIS) degree from Colorado State University from 2014 to 2016, specializing in Computer and Information Sciences, General. Additionally, at Colorado State University, they earned a Graduate Certificate in IT Project Management during the same period. Prior to that, John earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland University College, from 2006 to 2012.

Before their undergraduate studies, John also completed an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from the Community College of the Air Force, spanning from 1998 to 2009. Notably, they attended the Noncommissioned Officer Leadership & Management Academy in 2009, receiving training in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration. Furthermore, they completed the Airman Leadership School in 2002.

In addition to their academic achievements, John has obtained various certifications. These include the Cogito Project Manager, Radar, and Reporting Workbench Administrator certifications from Epic, attained in October 2014. John also gained expertise in different areas of the Clarity Data Model, including Resolute Hospital Billing, ADT/Prelude, and Resolute Professional Billing, between January and February 2014.
