Monica Diaz

Monica Diaz is an undergraduate research mentee at the Institute for Research on Labor & Employment, collaborating on a project focused on economic security while previously serving as a research assistant analyzing crime and gender-based violence in Guatemala. Additional experience includes working as an academic caseworker at The Student Advocate's Office and a paralegal intern at Oasis Legal Services, where advocacy for marginalized communities was a priority. Monica has contributed to mentorship programs at Girls Inc. and supported low-income students through tutoring. Further roles have involved healthcare coordination and patient assistance, including telehealth duties and medical assistance at healthcare facilities. Currently enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, Monica has accumulated diverse skills in research, advocacy, and education throughout a comprehensive academic and professional journey.
