Bart Geerts has extensive experience in the medical and healthtech fields. Bart began their career in 2006 as a Project Leader at the Centre for Human Drug Research. In 2008, they moved to the Leiden University Medical Center as a Senior Registrar Anaesthetics. In 2011, they were a Fellow Intensive Care at the University College London. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Fellow Intensive Care at the Academic Medical Center (AMC) and an Anaesthetist (Chef de Clinique) at Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Consultant (Cardiac) Anaesthetist & Principal Investigator (PI) at Amsterdam UMC. During this time, they were also a Medical Lead at Scyfer (acquired by Qualcomm) from 2015 to 2017. From 2017 to 2021, they were the CEO & Founder of Healthplus.ai, where they built, validated, and scaled machine-learning algorithms to transform all types of data into insights to allow patients and health care providers to take better informed actions and become proactive. Since 2021, they have been an Advisor AI/ Digital Health at NLC - The European Healthtech Venture Builder and a Mentor Digital Health at Rockstart.
Bart Geerts has an extensive education history. Bart completed their MD degree in Medicine from Leiden University in 2006, followed by a MSc in Biomedical Sciences from the same university in 2005. Bart also obtained a PhD in Hemodynamic monitoring and fluid management in the ICU and OR from Leiden University in 2011. In 2012, they completed a Fundamentals of Strategy course at Harvard Extension School. In 2013, they obtained a certification in Clinical Pharmacology from Leiden University and in 2014 they completed an Intensive Care Medicine degree from the University of Amsterdam. Finally, in 2017 they obtained an MBA in Global Executive from IE Business School.
