Mark Brumfield

Mark Brumfield is a Senior Principal and Chief Executive Officer. He started at the firm as a co-op and brings more than 35 years of leadership experience. Mark’s innovative leadership style strengthens and guides the firm to achieve the purpose – to build a more sustainable, well, and resilient society. He is passionate about delivering a superior customer experience. His goal is to invest in the colleagues, and make a lasting positive impact on the industry, the community, and the planet. HEAPY plans to achieve this through resilient and sustainable design (e.g., net zero, carbon planning). Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton, and is a professional engineer licensed in 17 states.

In his free time, Mark enjoys being outdoors and staying active hiking, play basketball or golfing. He is married to Meg, and they have three children – Hailey, Meredith, and Samuel. He remains active in his church as Chair of the Church Administrative Board, and participates as a men’s small group leader, youth leader, and choir member.
