Peter Carlsson

Peter Carlsson is the founder and CEO of Northvolt, a company on a mission to build Europe’s largest battery factory and produce the world’s greenest lithium-ion battery. Since its inception in 2016, Northvolt has grown to more than 1500 employees from over 90 different countries at its facilities in Sweden, Germany, and Poland.

Among Northvolt’s industrial partners and customers are ABB, BMW Group, Scania, Siemens, Volkswagen and Volvo Cars. In March 2021, Northvolt acquired U.S. battery technology company Cuberg to commercialize next-generation battery cells.

Before starting Northvolt, Peter was the Chief Purchasing Officer and Head of Supply Chain at Tesla. He has a M.Sc. with specialization in production and quality control at Luleå Technical University in Sweden.
