Vagn Sørensen

Vagn Sørensen is the Chairman of Air Canada. Vagn spent his executive career in the aviation business. He served 17 years with SAS as Deputy CEO, and he became the CEO of Austrian Airlines between 2001 and 2006 .

Vagn was previously Chairman of British Midland Airways Ltd, Member of the Supervisory Board of Lufthansa Cargo AG, Member of the strategic advisory committee of Nordic Aviation Capital, Deputy Chairman of DFDS A/S, Chairman of the Association of European Airlines, Member of the Board of the international Air Transport Association (IATA) and Chairman of deSter Holding BV.

Besides his work in the aerospace industry, Vagn also has engagements in the leisure, hotel, industrials and software sectors. He serves as Chairman of F L Smidth A/S and Scandlines. He is an Independent Director on the Boards of Royal Caribbean Cruises Inc and CNH Industrials NV. He is also on the Board of Directors at Unilode Aviation Solutions AG, VFS Global AG, Parques Reunidos SA, Big Bus Tours and the Board of the Rock’n Roll Forever Foundation.

Vagn also has 20 experience in private equity, mainly with EQT.
