Head of Flight Control Systems at Heart Aerospace

Welsh has responsibility for building the engineering team that will design and implement a control system suitable for a modern commuter aircraft.

Before joining Heart Aerospace, Welsh worked at Mitsubishi Aircraft as the Flight Controls Group Leader for the SpaceJet. Welsh started his career as an Experiment Systems Engineer at McDonnell Douglas for the Space Shuttle Spacelab. After moving to Honeywell, he worked developing Autopilot and Flight Control Systems for Business and Regional Aircraft, where subsequently became a Staff Engineer. He joined Parker Hannifin as Manager of the Flight Controls System Group, leading the adaptation of Fly-By-Wire technology to a new generation of Business and mid-size Regional Aircraft. Before joining Mitsubishi, Welsh took a hiatus from Flight Controls as the Operations and Accountable Manager at a small Caribbean airline, Montserrat Airways.

Welsh has a B.Sc. n Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University.
