Larry Strickland has extensive experience in both the scouting and IT sectors. At Heart of America Council, BSA since January 2008, Larry has held multiple roles including Council Registrar, Assistant Council Commissioner, and District Commissioner - KAW, showcasing a commitment to community service and program management. Prior to this, Larry worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City from November 1988 to February 2019, where Larry advanced from Network and System Engineer to Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations. Larry began their career at Control Data Corporation as a Computer Operator from November 1986 to November 1988. Academic qualifications include an MBA in Computer Resource and Information Management from Webster University and a BA in Computer Based Information Systems from Park University.

Boy Scout Council for Kansas City and the surrounding 19 counties in Western MO. and Eastern KS. Serving over 16,000 youth and over 8,000 adult volunteers. The Boy Scouts of America (BSA), was incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by congress in 1916. Its purpose is to provide young adults an effective educational program designed to build desirable qualities of character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and to develop in them personal fitness. Community groups such as religious, educational, civic, fraternal, business, labor, governmental bodies, corporations, professional associations, and groups of citizens who have compatible goals and utilize the program provided accomplish the purpose by the Boy Scouts of America on the local level.
