Megumi Mizushima Smith

Megumi Mizushima Smith is an experienced music educator with a focus on percussion performance. Currently serving as a Percussion Instructor at California State University-Dominguez Hills since January 2022, Megumi also holds part-time lecturer positions at Loyola Marymount University and has been a teaching artist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic since January 2012. Additional roles include directing percussion ensembles at Santa Monica College and the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, and serving as a percussion and piano instructor at Megumi Music Studio since May 1992. Megumi holds a Master's degree in Percussion Performance from California State University, Northridge and a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese Language and Literature from Hosei University.
