Heart to Heart Global Cardiac Care
Karen O'Brien has extensive experience in leadership and project management within the fields of chemistry and education. Since August 2014, Karen has served as a member of the Board at Heart to Heart International Children's Medical Alliance. From 2007 to 2014, Karen was the Executive Director of Advancing Green Chemistry, and prior to that, held the position of Senior Project Manager at the American Chemical Society - Green Chemistry Institute from 2004 to 2006. Earlier roles include Research Associate at Darden Business School at the University of Virginia from 2001 to 2004 and Program Officer at the W. Alton Jones Foundation from 1997 to 2001. Karen's academic qualifications include a PhD in Political Science from Columbia University, an MA in Government and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia, and a BA in Development Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
