Maren Downing

Maren Downing has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. Maren has served as the Chief Technology Officer at Heartbeat Technologies since March 2022. Prior to this, Maren worked as a Commercial Team Coordinator for the NIH COVID-19 Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics Initiative starting in May 2020. In 2021, they were a Research Fellow at the Harvard Longwood Short-Term Research Training in Vascular Surgery from June to August. Maren also worked as a Research Assistant at the Medical University of South Carolina from March to August 2020. Maren gained experience as a Manufacturing Engineer at Med-Ally LLC from August 2019 to June 2020. Additionally, Maren served as a Global Health Design Researcher at Clemson University from January 2018 to December 2019. Maren also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Columbia University in the City of New York and as a Research Assistant at Kansai University in 2019 and 2018 respectively.

Maren Downing's education history begins with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering from Clemson University College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences, which was obtained in 2019. Following this, they pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering at Clemson University, completing it in 2020. Currently, Maren is enrolled at Campbell University with an expected graduation year of 2024, where they are studying to obtain a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree. In addition to their academic achievements, Maren obtained a certification as a Solidworks Mechanical Design Associate from Dassault Systèmes in April 2018.
