Dominic Follett-Smith

Dominic Follett-Smith has worked in the software engineering and development field since 2011. Theirwork experience includes positions at Hearth (2022), SPAN Digital Innovation (2016), Proversity.org (2016), Hubble Studios (2014), Intellection Software (2013), Santiware (2013), University of Cape Town (2012 and 2011), Headstart Tutors and Private (2011), and BSG (2012). At Santiware, they served as a Contractor: Mesh Network Engineer, where they set up and deployed an enterprise mesh network and wrote shell scripts to handle ipv6 link-local addressing, system auto configuration on boot and reboot, and management of wireless devices. At University of Cape Town, they worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant, where they obtained good administration skills, helped prepare tests, exams and practical work, compiled and reported grades, altered BATMAN protocol routing metric and algorithm, developed an interference aware routing protocol (I-BATMAN), and evaluated wireless link budgets for smart city networks in Cape Town. Hons. 1st Class from the University of Cape Town (2012), and a Master's degree - 6 months from the University of Cape Town (2013-present).
