Natalie S. has experience in various roles and organizations. Natalie started working as a Sustainability Intern at KU Center for Sustainability in 2016, and simultaneously served as an Environmental Internship Coordinator & Welcome Center Assistant at The University of Kansas from November 2016 to May 2018. Natalie then interned at Kansas City Southern as a Health, Safety, and Environmental Intern from May 2019 to August 2019. Most recently, they joined HeartLand, LLC as a GIS Consultant from July 2020 to October 2020, before being promoted to the role of Director of Business Intelligence, which they currently hold.

Natalie S. has a diverse education history in the field of environmental and urban geosciences. Natalie received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Studies with a Geospatial Analysis pathway from The University of Kansas in 2018. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City from 2018 to 2020, specializing in Environmental and Urban Geosciences. During this time, they also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2020.

In 2021, Natalie furthered their education by obtaining a Certificate in Data Analytics from The University of Kansas. Apart from their formal education, Natalie has also obtained several additional certifications. Natalie completed a Data Analyst certification from The University of Kansas in July 2021. Additionally, Natalie has acquired certifications in Physical Science Responsible Conduct of Research from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in March 2020 and HAZWOPER from the Safety and Environmental Training Institute in January 2020.
